The Novel Corona Virus – COVID’19 has reset the basics worldwide and the new normal for the time being are “Social Distancing” and “Work @ Home”. During COVID-19 situation, when physical fairs are not possible, the EPCH has successfully organized 4 International Virtual Trade Fairs in between June to November, 2020 i.e. Indian Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Show, IHGF Textiles Show and IHGF Delhi Fair (Spring) & (Autumn) editions on a virtual platform.

 

Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) in association with Indian Missions (High Commissions & Consulates) in Australia & New Zealand is pleased to announce the “VIRTUAL BUYER SELLER MEET OF INDIAN HANDICRAFTS MANUFACUTURERS & EXPORTERS WITH BUYERS OF OCEANIA REGION (AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND) starting from 24 – 27 November, 2020 where over 120 accredited manufacturers and exporters from all parts of India will display the wide range of handcrafted products at Virtual BSM.

 

The objective of organizing this Virtual Buyer-Seller Meet is match-making on virtual platform of Indian companies with the Oceanian buyers & companies interested in sourcing Handicrafts, Gifts, Furniture, Fashion, Lifestyle products for the Australian, New Zealand, Fiji & Others market thereby creating a ‘Brand Image’ of Indian Handicrafts amongst Oceanian buyers. Indian Craftsmanship, Ethnic Designs and colours are unique and have no comparison with products from other countries. It is expected that this Virtual Buyer-Seller-Meet in association with Indian High Commissions & Consulates will lead to a growth in Indo-Oceanian Trade relations.

 

Product choice at the Virtual Buyer Seller Meet traverses from timeless classics to contemporary influences, bringing in innovations and handcrafted fusions from a cross section of craft regions and production clusters spread across India. The collections, varied in inspiration, processes and materials offer – art metal ware, EPNS ware, wood carvings, furniture & accessories, glassware, fashion jewellery & accessories, hand-printed textiles, shawls, stoles & scarves, embroidered goods, lace, toys, houseware, decorative, gifts & general handicrafts, home textiles and home accessories, candles & incense, pottery, terracotta & ceramics, nautical instruments, Christmas and floral decorations, dry flowers & potpourri, handmade paper products, crafts made of leather, lacquer, marble, etc. are just some of them.

 

Visitors can see original craft making processes at Live Demonstrations on the virtual platform – a rare opportunity to see National Awardees and Internationally recognized master crafts persons share their handcrafting skills. We have also lined up insightful and informative knowledge webinars as well as web panel discussions throughout the show.

 

Australia and New Zealand have been important markets for the Indian handicrafts and their exports of from India stood at US$ million 95.59 during 2019-2020.
