Norman’s Sri Lanka diary
Pakistan legend Younis Khan has once again proven to be a true legend peeling off another double century against England at the oval. Khan is a master of the long innings not just on flat tracks but on any surface. His stats do not lie.
They tell a story of a batting elder like no other. Pakistan’s highest run scorer and going strong at 38 years of age. He knows exactly how to grind out an innings with a touch of class and elegance sprinkled on top. The superlatives flow not unlike when compared to a Vengsarkar or even a Tendulkar.
Can he continue for a few more years? It looks like he can. His sixth double century won’t be his last. Hopefully he can bring this form to Australia in the summer series. If anyone deserves success Younis does. Both he and Misbah Ul Haq are gentlemen and someone for Pakistani cricket to idolise and follow. The legend of Khan will live on.
