Four day cricket will once again kick off the men’s season on October 22nd, with five of the ten competition rounds played until late November, before making way for the T20 competition which is set to return to the popular holiday period and run until mid January.

Details of the men’s domestic T20 competition will be announced on Friday.

The Ford One Day Trophy will be played off the back of the T20s, with the competition commencing in mid-January and culminating in a three-match preliminary finals series, followed by the Grand Final on Saturday, February 18th.

The second half of the Plunket Shield competition finishes off the season with the final day on Saturday, April 1st.

The women’s competition will follow the WHITE FERNS homes series against Pakistan, beginning on November 25th.

The domestic women’s One Day and Twenty20 competitions will again run concurrently, with two teams playing each other in both formats over a three day period, before a finals weekend on February 11-12.

Amy Satterthwaite’s Canterbury Magicians will open their T20 title defence away to the Wellington Blaze, while defending One Day champions the Auckland Hearts face the Northern Spirit at Cobham Oval in Whangarei.

After five full rounds of Twenty20 and 10 rounds of One Day action, the finals will be held on February 11 and 12. Subsequently, the WHITE FERNS squad to face Australia at home will be named.

Every match of the 2016-17 domestic season will be live-scored on www.blackcaps.co.nz and the Major Association websites.
