Move over Murali ! Sri Lanka has Sandakan, Perera, De 
Silva and of course the wily old fox Herath. The long success of Sri Lankan cricket especially in Sri Lanka was based on Muttiah Muralitharan being in the side. That was some six years ago. Since then Sri Lanka have struggled to win tests especially abroad. But somewhat of revelation has occurred. Sri Lanka have not only found a young star in Kusal Mendis to bat around other than relying on Sangakkara and Jayawardene they have also found a triumvirate of bowlers to team up with Herath.
The test series in Sri Lanka has unearthed Lakshan Sandakana and placed him under the guidance of Rangana Herath. Kusal Mendis also a debutant batted with the confidence of any before him scoring 176 when most couldn’t reach 50.
Beating Australia anywhere in a test match let alone winning a series in Sri Lanka versus Australia was not seen for some 17 years. Now they have won two in a row.
Quite unexpected but a great amount of delight has swept the smiling Sri Lankan fans. Future looks bright without Murali and Sangakkara and co.
